SPOKESPERSON (2015 – 2017)

Coordinator for Press and Publication Department, NRNA UK (2015-17)

At Non-Resident Nepali Association(NRNA) UK, we work hard for the interest of Nepalese people here in the UK, in Nepal and around the globe. As the Coordinator of Press and Publication Department, I managed everything from internal communications to helping the NRNA UK to deliver its strategy.

In this role, I needed to deal with usual as well as unexpected breaking issues and work effectively under pressure including the need to handle issues with journalists (particularly Nepalese ones) from local, national and international media.

Media and Communication Officer for Project Nepal House (2016 – 2020)

During my years at the NRNA UK, I also acted as Media and Communication Officer for the ambitious Nepal House Project. In this project I worked alongside the founders, patrons, journalists and other talented people in the team. The project is expected to be accomplished by 2020. To me, it’s was another opportunity to highlight the current activities of Nepalese people in the UK and make an impact across the media.

With a clear purpose of planning and delivering communication strategies for not only Nepal House but all kinds of projects by NRNA UK, I am looking to fulfill my passion for current affairs. Eager for a challenge, I support the NRNA UK’s proactive and reactive media communications – often researching and writing press releases, dealing with media queries, and negotiating media access to the team of Nepalese journalists that showcases our work to the public.

I relish the chance to be a part of the largest Nepalese organisation in the United Kingdom. These positions require me to possess a sound understanding of digital content and social platforms and how these can take our story straight to the public. As a proactive and forward-thinking individual, I should passionately develop social and digital products to help the NRNA UK fulfill its communication goals.
